What Arcke is bound to.
Arcke is built and operated by people like you. We are independent artists, building Arcke for you and for us. We’re building the world we’re tired of talking about. To protect and ensure that mission, Arcke is bound to commitments that are more than words on a website. These are a few words from our corporate charter, and they drive not just what we do at Arcke but also why, and how we do it.
Our commitments, in the words of the certificate of incorporation.
FROM ARTICLE III
(i)The Corporation shall not be owned or controlled by any Major Record Label Group, or any entity deriving a majority of consolidated gross revenue from the fragmentation, opacity, or restriction of musical creator rights data;
IN PLAIN TERMS
A major label group cannot own or control Arcke. Neither can any company that makes its money from keeping rights data scattered or closed.
(ii)The Corporation shall not take any action on musical creator data without transparent disclosure and the creator's ability to refuse;
IN PLAIN TERMS
Arcke cannot act on your data without telling you, and without your being able to refuse.
(iii)The Corporation shall not use musical creator data to train, develop, or enable systems that compete with or diminish the economic interests of the creators whose authorship generated it;
IN PLAIN TERMS
Your catalog cannot be used to train systems that compete with you, or that reduce what you earn from your own work.
(iv)The Corporation shall not subordinate musical creator data, rights, or provenance to the commercial interests of third parties.
IN PLAIN TERMS
Your rights and provenance cannot be put second to another company's commercial interest.
These are more than aspirations or principles. They are enforceable.
THE SPECIFIC PUBLIC BENEFIT
The purpose of the Corporation is to make the sovereign authority of independent music creators (those whose contribution to a work is one of creative authorship, operating outside the ownership, control, or funding of major record label groups and their affiliates) legible, provable, and exercisable across the full lifecycle of a musical work, from the moment of its creation through the entirety of its commercial existence.
No tracking, no cookies, no really.
- We do not have any advertising technologies on our website or in our products.
- We do not use cross-site tracking.
- We do not use cookies to know who you are, or to measure you.
- We don’t store your IP address.
We do count visits. Those analytics are cookieless and aggregated, they run on Plausible, and we serve them from arcke.io — so your browser never contacts anyone but us. They cannot follow you off this site.
We store very little.
If you join the Preview waitlist, then whatever you put in the form is sent to us, and that’s it. If you take part in the Arcke Artist Survey, we store a recording of the conversation, its transcript, your answers in your own words, and anything else you might optionally provide. No IP address or location data is stored. There is no account and no login required. All the data is automatically purged after 180 days. Arcke does not sell your data to anyone, nor allow its data to be used for training AI.
