Origin
Arcke began with a problem I could not stop thinking about for over a decade. The systems that independent artists and labels depend on were built last century, for a world that no longer exists. And the industry 'black box' exists because that infrastructure is not fit for purpose. As an artist myself, and a micro-label operator, I've experienced these challenges directly. The problems are big, and the solution has to match it. The artist must be center stage for it to work.

The name
ἀρχή
arché · AR-kah
In Ancient Greek it means two things at once. The cause, the origin, the beginning of a thing. And the rule and authority over that thing. It’s both of those ideas, in one word. We believe the artist is both the originator of their works, and the sovereign of those works.
The company
